Firms explain performance to NSE

AUDITED result of Union Bank Nigeria Plc for the year ended March 31, 2009 showed gross earnings of N147.3 billion, higher than N112.9 billion in 2008 while loss after tax and exceptional items stood at N72.8 billion compared with profit after tax of N26.8 billion in 2008.
Nigerian-German Chemical Plc's audited result for the year ended December 31, 2008 showed a turnover of N2.8 billion, up from N22.6 billion recorded in 2007. The company's profit after tax stood at N17.9 million compared with N137.4 million in 2007. The date of closure of register for members is stated as December 1, 2009.
For Pharma Deko Plc, its audited result for the year ended December 31, 2008 showed a turnover of N1.1 billion up from N790.4 million in 2007. While loss after taxz stood at N198 million compared to N242.3 million in 2007.
Unaudited result of Chevron Oil Nigeria Plc for the third quarter ended September 2009 showed a turnover of N54.3 billion as against N36.3 billion recorded in the comparable period in 2008. The firm's profit after tax also stood at N1.3 billion, higher than N314.7 million in 2008.
Beta Glass Company Plc's unaudited result for the third quarter ended September 30, 2009 showed a turnover of N7.8 billion, up from N6.5 billion in the comparable period in 2008 while profit after tax rose to N1.1 billion from N895.9 million recorded in 2008.
Unaudited result of AG Leventis Nigeria Plc for the third quarter ended September 30, 2009 showed a turnover of N10.7 billion, higher than N8.2 billion recorded in the comparable period in 2008. The company's profit after tax stood at N919.8 million compared to N807.4 million in 2008.
Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc's unaudited result for the third quarter ended September 30, 2009 showed a turnover of N3.4 billion, as against N4.4 billion recorded in the comparable period in 2008 while the company's profit after tax and exceptional items stood at N192.9 million, compared to N1.8 billion in 2008.
Unaudited result of Chemical & Allied Product Plc for the third quarter ended September 30, 2009 showed a turnover of N2.1 billion, as against N1.8 billion recorded in the comparable period in 2008.
The company's profit after tax stood at N350.41 million, compared to N435.5 million in 2008.
RedStar Express Plc's unaudited result for the half-year ended September 30, 2009 showed a turnover of N2.1 billion, over N2 billion recorded in the comparable period in 2009 while it's profit after tax stood at N166.1 million compared to N190.4 million in 2008.
Unaudited result of Tripple Gee & Co. Nigeria Plc for the half year ended September 30, 2009 showed a turnover of N300.6 million, as against N463.5 million in the comparable period in 2008 while profit after tax stood at N2.1 million, compared with N60.7 million in 2008.
Prestige Assurance Plc's unaudited result for the third quarter ended September 30, 2009 showed Gross premium of N2.7 billion, up from N2.3 billion recorded in the comparable period in 2008. The company's profit after tax also rose to N608.1 million, from N515.4 million in 2008.
Unaudited result of Linkage Assurance Plc for the third quarter ended September 30, 2009 showed gross premium of N1.9 billion, higher than N1.8 billion in the comparable period in 2008. The company's profit after tax and exceptional items stood at N25 million, compared with profit after tax of N352.8 million in 2008.
International Energy Insurance Plc's unaudited result for the third quarter ended September 30, 2009 showed Gross Premium of N4.2 billion, higher than N2.4 billion in the comparable period in 2009. Its profit after tax stood at N496.9 million, compared with N1.6 billion in 2008.
Unaudited result of First Aluminium Nigeria Plc for the third quarter ended September 30, 2009 showed a turnover of N6.5 billion, up from N6.2 billion in the comparable period in 2008 while loss after tax stood at N59.5 million, compared with N112.1 million in 2008.
